Stylish and Chic

I was recently given a gift and it was really something I’ve been wanting to invest on.

Welcome my newest friend, Dash.

I have so many laptop bags but I have recently been referred to a site that sells stylish and chic laptop bags that I’m going to invest on.

Now which one would I choose?

Sunglasses Galore

I own a number of sunglasses, from the branded ones to the cheap yet good ones. It’s an accessory I’ve grown so at home with since my university years. And I think I passed on the crown to my siblings, too.

I came across a site that sells all-original and branded sunglasses from the US. It’s a one-stop shop for all your designer sunglasses needs for both men and women. I’m looking into buying this one before my uncle goes back here from his vacation. I think it would be a good replacement for my already worn out pair.

Check out the site here for more of their products. They ship internationally for a fee and if it’s in the US, orders are shipped for free.

Skechers Shape-Ups

When I got the press kit for this product, I was quite amazed as to what this newest shoe line can do.

As you know, Skechers is known for their hip and stylish shoes that fit any gender and lifestyle. Living up to their commitment of providing quality footwear, Skechers came up with an innovative product called Shape Ups that aims to promote weight loss, tone muscles, improve posture and get in shape through fitness walking even without going to the gym. For some this may seem impossible to achieve but to those who cannot keep a regular trip to the gym or maintain a regular exercise regimen, Shape Ups by Skechers are trainers that can help keep you in shape even with the simplest things you do like walking the dog, going to the grocery store or even just by simply walking a flight of stairs.

The trainers were designed utilizing a soft kinetic wedge insert and a dynamic rolling out sole that can help simulate the effect of walking barefoot on a soft surface. This instructional video will help you get the full benefits of using this revolutionary footwear that’s essential for a healthy lifestyle.

I’m saving up to get a pair and I’d like to use it when I run errands like doing the groceries or when I walk in the mornings during weekends. This is pretty promising from the looks of it.

The Skechers Shape Ups are already available at Skechers Trinoma, Robinsons Place Manila, Market! Market!, Glorietta 5 and Festival Mall with a suggested retail price of PhP 4,590.00.

Stuck in the Dump

Day 4 and I’m still stuck in the dump (read: my room and bathroom). Lesser in frequency but still the need is there.

Basti went here today and showed me the certificate he got from the coloring contest he joined. He didn’t win but I’m so proud of my little guy. He told me that he’s here because he wanted to take care of my tummy. Awwww! Isn’t he just the sweetest?

Time flies fast when I’m with him. I gave him a Pizza Hut lunch treat for a job well done and I saw how happy he was. I wish a pizza treat would just be enough to relieve us of all our problems. But of course, adults do not live to experience that.

Tagaytay trip is canceled. Papa made sense when he told me to have the trip moved to next Saturday. This hotel has really been very patient with me.

So what am I going to do tomorrow? Probably just go grocery shopping with Papa sans the eat out. I don’t think it will be a wise move to eat and then scram to the nearest restroom. It wouldn’t be that good.

Another weekend is here. To my colleagues who will have their bonuses tomorrow, have fun and congrats!

Thursday 13 – Week 29

Since I am confined in the walls of my own bedroom due to gastroenteritis, I decided to think about happy thoughts to keep me sane. That’s why right now, I’m going to write about the

13 Things I Like About Staying at Home

01. I get to watch television ANYTIME I WANT TO! Talk about movies at Cinema One, Star Movies or HBO.

02. I am now catching up on my much-needed sleep (after the horrendous trips to the bathroom).

03. I am in the loop when it comes to my internet accounts – e-mails, news feeds and other stuff.

04. I get to use my cellphone which is already a rare thing for me to do nowadays.

05. I get to lie down on a comfortable bed and just wait until my next bathroom call.

06. I get to drink clean and potable water anytime. Thanks to Wilkins Distilled Water.

07. Papa can reach me by telephone anytime he needs to.

08. Gas and toll savings of about 2000 pesos for the week! WOOHOO!

09. Less laundry for the week.

10. No unnecessary food expenses for the week.

11. I get to talk to Basti anytime I want.

12. I get to rant at my internet provider’s technical team without the need to rush.

13. Time? What time? I don’t really have to care about the time when I’m here.

Happy Thursday!

Miracle Cure

Day 3 and I’m still in pain. Add to that having a very compelling reason to go to the bathroom every so often.

I’m not so much a fan of dietary and health supplements. For me, they’re all the same – they might be into certain schemes and probably, just another painful cut from your budget.

Although I’m quite cynical about this, I can attest to the fact that some of these actually help ease whatever negative thing you are experiencing in your body. Papa gulps down so many of these vitamins and supplements and so far, he’s okay. I remember that he was stopped by his doctors from taking them when he was confined a couple of months ago. Probably there may be effects we don’t know that can harm instead of promote wellness when taken with other drugs.

I’ll be a hypocrite if I’ll tell you that I haven’t tried any of these. I did (they’re not the weight loss ones because I don’t intend to lose weight through pills) and in fact I stepped into a Healthy Options store for the first time to purchase some products that were recommended to me by a friend. Somehow it helped but Healthy Options products are quite expensive and I don’t think I can actually manage to follow through my purchases every month.

And then Mama kept bugging us about purchasing even just 2 bottles of GoChi juice from my aunt who’s a reseller. As promised we got 2 bottles and spent quite a fortune on it. 2500 per bottle for some berry juice? So it claims something like it’s the miracle cure. How I wish it was true.

We have no choice but to drink it. Papa asked me to be the guinea pig. I tried a quarter of a small glass. It tastes okay (something I can take in) but I don’t think I can drink a full glass since my tummy’s out of control. We’ll see what happens after I’m done with my condition.

For now I can only let the juice sit in the fridge. I’d rather think about how I can get out of this tummy ordeal and probably look for an affordable health insurance plan for Dexter. Too bad I’m not expecting any bonuses on Saturday and in October. Will this so-called miracle cure get me out of all my worries and fears? Sadly, I don’t think it can.

Day 2 of being at home and I’m stuck with being productive even in bed. Isn’t that something worth bragging about?

Anyway, I’m not going to talk about the gory details about my inevitable and unscheduled bathroom trips. I’m just happy to be here at home and not worrying about production time being wasted on my frequent bathroom trips.

I can’t eat properly. I gulp down Hydrite for water and I tried substituting bubble gum-flavored Pedialyte so I won’t dehydrate. So much for the ice cream and cake that’s waiting for me in the fridge. I can’t eat them for now. Skyflakes does the work for me – at least to keep my tummy with some food but afterwards, it becomes useless.

Papa told me to go to the doctor. Being the me that I know, I just asked for the medicines I had for this condition last year. No doctor. I don’t like injections and tests at this time. Besides, maybe tomorrow this is gone.

I spoke to my sisters and I’m glad Mama’s home safe from the surgery. I still need details but it’s a relief to know she’s back at home. I wish I could feel that relief with my stomach at this point. My sister told me that her face is starting to clear of pimples. Thanks to the best acne treatment being given to her by her dermatology specialist. I think they’ve given her a new set of treatments which are working this time around.

Okay, there’s the bathroom calling again and probably I’ll doze off for a few minutes after this.

I don’t think I have mentioned about the tale of the water that tasted like plastic I drank from the office about a week ago. I experienced on and off gastric pains and occasional unplanned trips to the bathroom. I thought it’s just gonna pass. Unfortunately, it didn’t.

Earlier tonight, I went home with an aching tummy. I thought it was just another “I can endure it” kind of pain but it didn’t go away. I tried to act normally (which I guess I was successful in doing so) but I was cursing to the heavens after I dropped off my friend at home from work. Traffic was a bit bad and my tummy was aching just as bad too.

Last year, I experienced the same kind of pain and I was diagnosed to have acute gastroenteritis. I wasn’t able to eat earlier and to top it all, I vomited. That wasn’t good and this must be another case of AGE I have.

I’m feeling weak and I’ve had about 5 trips to the bathroom since the time I got home. I hope this goes away very soon.
